Latin Music and Afro-Cuban Rhythms

Los Gatos presents music programs that discuss Latin music and the fusion of styles and influences, from Spain, Africa, and New Orleans. Programs can be geared towards all ages.

Los Gatos performs traditional Latin music and Latin Jazz. This combination beautifully demonstrates the two musical genres and peoples blending as one. Los Gatos programs are educational and enlightening.

Topics include the origin of specific styles of rhythms, geographical location of countries of origin, as well as demonstrations of instruments from those countries. Students are encouraged to participate in clapping along with specific rhythm patterns.

Programs can include traditional dances of Cuba and South America.
